Pain is existence and pain and flu.
Remember yesterday when I said I was sick with a cold and sore throat? Turns out it was a flu all along. I’m not good at identifying illnesses.
Anyways. Trying to survive. Hopefully I’ll be through the worst of it tonight. I hate being ill.
It’s a long-lasting solution.
I am sick. It’s been a good run – nearly 9 months without getting ill. But now I’m down for the count and it really hurts. Breathing hurts. Swallowing hurts. Thinking hurts.
I’d rather be throwing up, because at least then I’d be mostly better by the morning. But nope, I’m in this for the long haul. Whoever gave me this sore throat and cold, I hope you get sprayed by a skunk. And lose your glasses. And eat bad sushi. And fall down a well.
Planets come before the fall.
I can’t remember when I found out stars were really far away, but I sort of hate whoever told me that. The idea of catching a star is really cool. Just give me a bug net the size of the universe and a rocket ship that can go faster than light and I’ll go grab one.
It’s full of songs.
Tired today. Some days aren’t productive days. So I’m just going to open my music box and listen to a few songs. ‘Night, all.
Better hope she doesn’t kick back.
I’ve never actually seen someone pull a ‘kick me’ prank in real life. But I have to imagine one of the dangers is getting kicked back, especially if your victim is a lot bigger than you are.
Then again, she probably doesn’t even know you’re there.

Today’s picture is somewhat different. This is a quote from the Dao de Jing, a famous text about the way of the Dao, or Tao. It’s considered the underlying principle of the universe, and following it is said to bring prosperity and success. And yet, without laughter it’s not the Dao. I just like that idea.
Really, it’s her fault for being in the way.
I hope no one reading this ever gets in a car crash. Cars are among scariest things I’ve ever seen, and I’ve flown on airplanes through storms.
But hey, at least I don’t have to worry about being hit by toy cars. A stick person’s not gonna do much damage even going fast if they ram me, so…huzzah for that?
It’s actually a really shallow ocean.
Ever played those games in the water where you balance on someone else’s shoulders and try to knock everyone into the water? I miss that. You can’t play those games by yourself, and especially if you don’t have an ocean, or at least a pool nearby.
Anyways, Knight’s strong. She can easily lift Pirate and as many stick people as she needs. Doesn’t mean she’s going to be happy about it, though.
The cannon fire is a nice backdrop to the conversation.
Sometimes you just have to work around annoying distractions. For instance, if I’m hiking I ignore the mosquitoes and bugs as best I can. In the same way, I guess you’ve just got to put up with stick-people when they decide to use your head a battleground.
Maybe crumpets would help…?
Sometimes people just have to get in the way of your relaxation time. Take Knight for instance. All she wants is to enjoy some tea in peace. But nooooo…monsters have to try and eat her. Life is really inconsiderate sometimes.
